How to send an Rx to patients from Scribe using your personal number?

Following up with patients after a consultation is an important part of clinical care. With EkaScribe’s WhatsApp integration, doctors can directly send prescriptions (Rx), clinical notes, and visit summaries to patients using their own personal or WhatsApp Business number.

This helps doctors streamline patient communication without switching between multiple apps or manually sharing files after every consultation.

The setup process is simple and takes only a few minutes.

Why Use WhatsApp Integration in EkaScribe?

With WhatsApp integration enabled, doctors can:

  • Send prescriptions (Rx) directly to patients after consultation
  • Share clinical notes and visit summaries instantly
  • Send appointment reminders and follow-up instructions
  • Communicate with patients in their preferred language
  • Improve patient experience with faster digital communication

The integration works using your existing WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business account, making it easy to continue patient communication from your own number.

How to Enable WhatsApp Integration

To start using this feature, go to the Integrations section inside EkaScribe Desktop App and enable WhatsApp integration.

Once enabled, EkaScribe connects your WhatsApp account securely through a QR-based login process.

Step 1: Open Integrations

Go to the Integrations section inside EkaScribe Desktop App and select the WhatsApp integration option.

Click Enable to start the setup process.

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

Once enabled, a QR code will appear on the screen.

Open WhatsApp on your mobile phone and go to:

WhatsApp → Linked Devices → Link a Device

Now scan the QR code displayed inside EkaScribe.

Step 3: WhatsApp Gets Connected

After scanning the QR code, your WhatsApp number becomes active inside EkaScribe for sending patient communication.

You can now directly send:

  • Prescriptions (Rx)
  • Clinical notes
  • Visit summaries
  • Follow-up instructions

Things to Keep in Mind

Before using the feature, here are a few important points:

  • Works with both personal and WhatsApp Business numbers
  • Your mobile phone should have an active internet connection
  • Best suited for one-on-one patient communication
  • Not recommended for bulk or broadcast messaging

You can also unlink your WhatsApp account anytime either from EkaScribe or directly from WhatsApp linked devices.

Simplifying Patient Communication

Instead of downloading prescriptions manually and sharing them separately, EkaScribe allows doctors to send consultation outputs instantly from the same workflow.

This reduces manual effort, improves patient convenience, and helps clinics maintain faster and smoother post-consultation communication using a familiar platform like WhatsApp.
